Designer / Director

AK_DD 代表。2007年より、物の見方を探究し、独自の視点と文脈の再構築からデザインとディレクションを手がける。物の構成と性質を通じて、表象を媒介するオブジェクトの習作を重ね、個展「OBJECTS」にて発表。近年はその手法をプロダクトや家具に応用し、SEKISAKA「PARK」、DOCU「ACU」、FIEL「OPEN」がある。

主な仕事に、GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE「工夫 KUFU」 ディレクション、無印良品「STOCK 展」企画・監修・会場 構成、T-HOUSE New Balance『NOT FAR』アートディレク ション、21_21 DESIGN SIGHT「雑貨展」コンセプトリサーチ、 「柳本浩市展」キュレーター、オリンパス純正カメラバッグ「CBG-2」プロダクトデザイン。
iF DESIGN AWARD、グッドデザイン賞を受賞等。編書に、『STOCK』（MUJI BOOKS、2017）

AKIHIRO KUMAGAYA

Designer / Director.

Director of AK_DD. Exploring ways of seeing, he approaches design and direction through a distinctive perspective and a sensitivity to recontextualisation. Through the composition and properties of things, he continues a practice of studying objects as mediators of representation, presented in the solo exhibition OBJECTS. In recent years, he has applied this approach to products and furniture, developing SEKISAKA's PARK, DOCU's ACU, and FIEL's OPEN.

Selected projects include direction of GOOD GOODS ISSEY MIYAKE's KUFU, planning, supervision, and venue design for MUJI's STOCK exhibition, art direction for T-HOUSE New Balance's NOT FAR, concept research for 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT's ZAKKA -Goods and Things-, and curation of the Koichi Yanagimoto exhibition.

Editor of STOCK (MUJI BOOKS, 2017).
